  • PAX Flickr Updates

Edit: Funkiness was the video, dunno what was up with it. I uploaded a crapier quality, it's better now.

Check out my Flickr stream and Blook's for a few random pics and maybe a vid or two from this weekend's festivities.

Update: Kotaku has some good pics of some cosplayers here.

  • PAX is Coming ..

If none of the following makes sense to you. .. It's ok. I'm just going to geek out a little this week is all.

So the Olympics are over, nothing else sporty to watch? NOT TRUE! The most challenging "sporting" event comes this weekend! (I quoted 'sporting' for effect) None the less, I'll be in Seattle this week cheering on the e-athletes (mostly fat, pimply dudes who live in their mom's basement).. Who will with no hesitation, wtfpwn you at Dance Dance Revolution.

The Omeganauts will compete for the top title. A few choice gamers will compete in the Omegathon. A grueling gauntlet of games where in the end, only one will remain standing. The rounds seem pretty mellow this year. Some peggle, some Boom Blox, two cheap and addicting almost ping-pong esque games. Then Pictionary! Followed by Rock band and Jenga! The last round is unknown. last year it was Halo3 (before the game was even released).. none of them are my type of game, but it's going to be fun to watch.

The real reason why I'm excited to head to PAX this weekend (aside from hanging out with friends) is that conventions like this are super fun for people watching. Generally, there are a lot of social outcasts that show up and the best part about it is that they are all in their element. Nobody cares what someone else is wearing (even if you come dressed up as Nintendo's Princess Peach). Nobody is judging you, it's just a bunch of misfits showing up to a convention about a hobby that they all share.

Check back this weekend for some updates. Follow me on twitter and flickr for some random pictures that I'm sure I'll be updating throughout the conference.

  • Blog Action Day is Coming

So I sarcastically participated in Blog Action Day last year. I got the reminder email from Blog Action Day this last week. This year, the subject is about something that is a real issue pretty much everywhere in the world. Poverty is something that some of us who are lucky enough to live where we do, don't really get the chance to see or experience. .. Not in the true sense of the word, anyway.

..Well, now you have a couple months to mull it over before expressing your thoughts.

“Have compassion for all beings, rich and poor alike; each has their suffering. Some suffer too much, others too little.” - Buddha

(Thanks to ZenHabbits.net for the reminder)

  • Because I don't want to post anything of substance:

  • You have one month left to live

The Large Hadron Collider is set to be activated in 30 days. Idiots around the world say it's going to end the world by creating a black hole when it's activated... kinda funny, in a very retarded way.

Here's some scientific 'rap' explaining how it works.. interesting if you're into physics. Or into weird science people trying to be hip.
