  • Do it Stevens! DO IT!

(Stevens, whose committee has authority over many Internet issues, defended his comments and said he had even received support from experts.

"I have a letter from a big scientist who said I was absolutely right in using the word 'tubes,"' he told reporters. However, Stevens said he had not been invited to appear on the show to respond.

When pressed whether he was willing to go on the show, Stevens slowly grinned and said: "I'd consider it.")

uhm... ... who is this 'big scientist'?  wow... this sort of thing really makes me think a lot more about how important it is to VOTE. how does someone as inept as this get into such authority and stay there as long as he has??????

hahah . .. better set the tivo to record this if it happens. .. Man, that guy is an idiot.

  • Former 'NSync band member is GAY!

uhm... someone tell me how this is news?

i mean seriously, who thought he was ever straight? Was there really any doubt?

  • Democracy that works!

Yup. Democracy makes my life better.. .. The Democracy Internet TV platform that is. :) Well, it's cool to me anyway. Bein' a geek and all, i have a few Media Center PC's that run my TV, and i love 'em.  This little FREE app is awesome! It'll download video blogs and podcasts directly to the player and manages them all through the original RSS feeds. You can set it to automatically download them or you can just pick and choose what to download and watch. It will automatically delete the files after a specified time and after they've been played.  This is a ton better than watching it on the site itself, because you can go fullscreen, and that looks much better on the TV.

Anyway, it's a great way to get information tidbits off the net that you don't get from regular sources. It definately deserves some wooties!!

So this is an open invitation to game with us @ or around 12 MST. It's hard to get time in the middle of the day to play, but hey! it's a great stress reliever! look for wooties.net on the server list or just pull down your console and type 'connect wooties.net' and you'll find us.

Go to the Forums for more info an where to find map downloads

we dont usually have more than 6-8 players. we suck.

check out steampowered.com if you don't have it.

  • More Net Neutrality funnies

Here's a follow-up Daily Show from yesterday that's worth Viewing. It has John Hodgman in it explaining further about the Net Neutrality bill. If you notice, he's also plays the 'PC' on the Apple computer comercials. <-- i have plenty of flame saved up about those ingenious, yet completely and abhorridly inaccurate TV spots.

    anyway, enjoy.

  • The Internet is NOT A BIG TRUCK!!!

Freaking how many times do I have to tell you, TRUCKS ARE INVADINDING THIS WORLD OF THE INTERNET!!!!!! THE TUBES ARE DOOMED!!!! THE commercial internet will rule us all!!!! SCREW JIHAD, WHAT ABOUT THE TUBES??? ALL YOUR INTERNETS ARE BELONG TO TeH TUBES and the enormous amounts of material in them that will crush your pitiful instant message with the PURE ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF MATERIAL!!!!!

RUNNN RUNN RUNNNN!!!!!!! You may get clogged! And end up arriving late like my 'internet that was sent by my staff'!!

… freaking commercial internet ganking on my personal internets! No wonder my internets always arrive late. I'm gonna sue!..

Ok, so I think that there are a lot of ppl that aren't quite as geek as myself that may not be aware of what kind of complete blundering old n00bs are part running this country. Net neutrality is a real issue.  If you don’t know what net neutrality really is, it's as simple as treating one website the same as any other, giving preference only to the choice of the user. The pure essence of what freedom is. As silly as the whole concept is, there are actual idiots that are debating whether or not you should have to pay a premium to have access to certain parts of the internet going on in congress right now.  And the inept Senator from Alaska is prime example of how detached and  down right ignorant some of the US government officials are.  (not to mention how lame the ppl of Alaska have to be to keep re-electing this tard)

In his argument against net neutrality on the senate floor, I quote the Senator Ted Stevens from Alaska: (you have to read the full transcript to really appreciate this dude's ignorance or listen to the tard at the bottom of the page)

    ---------------------------------------------------------

"I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why? Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially... They want to deliver vast amounts of information over the internet. And again, the internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a big truck.

    It's a series of tubes.

And if you don't understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and its going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material."

    ---------------------------------------------------------

Yes, these words actually came out of a United States Senator's mouth.  I'm starting to agree with the whole Jihad concept. Seriously, if we have this kind of leaders arguing for censorship of something so basic and free as the internet, why the hell should anyone believe in democracy at all?

What a freaking retard. And don’t bring up the poor sap's age as a pitiful attempt of an excuse. HE's AN ELECTED OFFICIAL OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! And he represents America. And if I were from Alaska, I'd be so embarrassed of my representation, I'd go  use myself as  orca bait, or to try and hump a polar bear or something more productive than Ted Stephens trying to explain why he thinks the internet should be censored by big business for profit.

listen to the idiot himself speak his wisdom of the net

Anyway, here's two sweet videos explaining the Senitor's views:

  • Happy Birthday mp3!!!

It’s July 14th!!! Do you know what that means?? .. No, you prolly don’t. But it’s a day worth celebrating that’s fo shizle. 11 years ago today researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits in Germany decided on the file name extension of ‘.mp3’ for their new audio encoding technology.  Why is this important you may ask? Well, name one piece of similar technology that has made such a large impact. The mp3 brought the music industry to it’s knees and delivered a well deserved slap across the face of corporate America when it came to product pricing and consumer conception. With the help of the first true file-sharing tech Napster,  mp3’s quickly became a force to be reckoned with.  Mp3’s are by far the most popular audio format primarily because of their lack of the evil technology that’s spawn from the devil, DRM.

In fact, if you could split the p2p traffic up and find out what percentage of that was mp3 sharing, the music industry would freak. In fact, i bet mp3’s are the cause of all the internet ‘clogs’ out there. And it was mp3 sharing that kept Senator Ted Stevens from getting his stupid email from his staff. Oh man what a freaking IDIOT. How anyone could have voted this inept, wrinkled, old, dummy into office, i’ll never know. Democracy is doomed.  In fact, i think i’ll retro-post a blog on that retard later on today.

    Anyway, Happy Birthday mp3!!!

(just so you know, LAME is an mp3 encoder)

  • Where has all the Anorexia gone?

i ran into an interesting article the other day.  Since turning 30 i’ve noticed some interesting growth around muh belly. ‘Course it doesn’t really help that i exercise like, 2 times a year. i think i get more and more winded every day i walk up the stairs to my work on the third story of a short building. … Man, i’m way too  skinny of a guy to be this fat. …

It’s true from what i can see though. We’re a bit fat. Maybe the chunky kids in elementrary school should play more TAG or something. Time i’ve spent in Europe, (a whole 12 hour layover) and the months i’ve spent in South Africa, and South America prove to me that we’re FAT! Seriously, i guess that’s why all the hot chicks are NOT American. (i'm kidding!)

Heheheh i’ll get in trouble for that comment. Anyway, there’s a neato animated map showing you how quickly the states have chunked up over the years.  Check it out. (that means click on the picture, for teh noobs out there)  i think i’ll head to McDonalds’ for a quick brunch.  i’ll make sure to super size it ‘cause that’s how i roll. ..

  • Fourth of July!

Another 4th of July has passed! It's always something i look at being able to be home for. It's always the holiday where my family gets together. We're all fairly different in our own ways, but we all get along really well. i heart my family!

Richfield is an interesting little town. A very pretty place that hasn't really grown much since i graduated High School. The Parade on the 4th is always fun to get back to some of them hick roots i keep trying to hide. (if i would have gotten a picture of the hick truck in the parade with the confederate flag on the back window, i would have quite the rant post for it -right after i keyed the crap out of that mullet machine-). i think most all those that grew up in this town all plan on coming back and visiting for this holiday. It's always fun.
